Did you know that in addition to its own excellent collection, Manitowoc's Rahr-West Art Museum (RWAM) displays wonderful rotating exhibits? Mark your calendars, just such an exhibit is coming to town. Opening April 2, 2006 is the Hainsworth Collection, truly a privilege to have here in our city. The RWAM is the only venue in Wisconsin for this private collection exhibit! The collection is an inspirational collection of masterful artists who documented American scenes stretching from the forests to the prairie to the bustle of everyday life in the city, as well as intimate moments in the passage of daily routines. Pictured at left is "ALEXANDER JOHN WHITE STUDY FOR WOMAN IN BLACK AND GREEN", just one of the many gems that will be on display. Other artists included in the exhibit are George Inness, Childe Hassam, John Robert Twatchman, Robert Henri and Thomas Hart Benton. There are a total of 67 captivating paintings with this exhibit, organized with scholarly documentation and a substantial catalogue by R.H. Love Galleries of Chicago.
